A degree structure based on three grades
The LMD "Bachelor, Master, Doctorate" is the new architecture degrees. Nevertheless, the intermediate diplomas (Bachelor, DUT, MA ...) continue to be issued.

Students titualires a DUT, a BTS or from a preparatory class to grandes écoles (CPGE) can still join a journey through a licensing process for validating and integrating a professional license after reviewing their files.
A presentation of formations fields
Degrees are listed by subject (eg Science, Technology, Health). Within this area, a reference is chosen (eg Physics and Chemistry). The graduation will the domain name and the words and possibly a specialty.
Licensed: only the particulars of languages or STAPS may be accompanied by a specialty. Ex: Bachelor of Languages, Literatures and Cultures Foreign (Philology) - English specialty.

Master: all indications are accompanied by one or more specialties. For example, the Master of Mathematics is subject to the specialty Mathematics and Modeling.
An organization of training semesters
The diploma is divided into semesters. Validation is biannual instead of annually. A reorientation is possible at the end of the semester. A student who has not endorsed a semester is permitted under certain conditions to continue in the next semester.
Teaching Units accumulated and transferred
Bachelor's and Master's courses are organized into teaching units (EU) mandatory and optional. C
ach EU has a definite value in European credits (ECTS) proportional to the work that the student has to successfully complete its EU.
The European credit system applies to all national qualifications and promotes the flexibility of course.
The EU is transferred from one course to another (subject to acceptance by the teaching staff). They allow for example to validate the study periods abroad.

The EU are capitalized: any EU gained, is forever.
Diploma Supplement
An appendix describing so-called "diploma supplement" will be issued to present details of the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired during training.
Teams to support student
A welcome and information, guidance and support is established by the teaching staff and training. It facilitates the orientation of the student, ensures consistency of his career teaching and promoting the success of the training project.

Continuing Education

As part of its education policy research and training, UAG contributes to economic and social areas, participating actively in the training of people. Since 1985, the University of the West Indies and Guyana has a specific structure in charge of training: theInstitute of Continuing Education (IUFC-UAG).

Short courses (including access for the DIF - individual right to training)
Courses leading to national degrees (USDA - degree of access to university studies, DUT, bachelor, master professional, etc..) Or a university degree
Organization and methods appropriate:
Rhythm and flexible organization: modules capitalized, training full-time or part time, evening classes, etc..
