About Smith
Since its founding in 1871, Smith College has provided women of high ability and promise an education of uncompromising quality. A world-class faculty of scholars are fully engaged with their students’ intellectual development, and an open curriculum encourages each student to explore many fields of knowledge. TYPES OF AID
Need-based Aid
Need-based aid may include loans, grants and campus employment. If you wish to apply for financial aid from Smith, you must do so when you apply for admission.
Merit Aid
Smith offers a limited number of awards based on merit rather than need. All applicants for admission are considered; there are no special application forms.
Outside Aid
Financial aid applicants are expected to apply for all federal, state and local scholarships for which they are eligible. It is crucial that applicants find out about these sources of aid in order to help the college continue to the meet the needs of all students. |
