Nottingham Trent University
Nottingham, United Kingdom

University description (as per official university website)

We are confident that as an NTU graduate you will have extensive knowledge of a profession or discipline, including relevant professional knowledge and skills, and informed respect for the principles, values and ethics of your chosen profession or discipline. You will also have good analytical, problem-solving and visual presentational skills and proficiency in the use of the all major technology and software relevant to your profession or discipline. You will develop a capacity for independent critical thought, rational inquiry and self-directed learning as well as an ability and confidence to work effectively and collaboratively in teams or in leadership positions.

NTU is one of the UK’s most successful universities for graduate employment. Over 97.7% of our students are employed or go on to further education within six months of graduating. How do we achieve this?

We listen to what employers want

Our courses are designed in collaboration with businesses, industry and the professions through negotiation, dialogue and regular exchange with staff and students, to ensure that our students are prepared for career success. As a result, our graduates occupy senior positions in a wide range of companies and organisations all over the world. These include 3M, DTZ, Astra-Zeneca, Microsoft, HSBC, Malaysia Airlines, Ernst and Young, Rolls Royce, Al-Jazeera, the BBC and many others.

We offer competitive work placements

NTU is the top 3 university in the UK for students taking year-long placements (HESA Student Records 2004/5). Why is this so important? Work placements give you the opportunity to enhance your CV, gain work experience, make contacts and test your career plans. We can offer you competitive internships ranging from financial placements in Wall Street to working with some of Europe's leading fashion houses, depending on the course you follow. Whether you are just starting out, changing direction or progressing in your chosen career, a work placement will be an invaluable asset.

We provide free careers advice and support

Our careers services and facilities are available to all undergraduate and postgraduate students whilst studying at the University and after graduation. We have the know-how and resources to help you to launch or progress your career.
