About the college

Bergen University College has about 7000 students and 750 employees. College consists of three departments, and is currently located in six different places in Bergen. College working on plans for co-location of Kronstad.

College aims to be the most important professional college in Western Norway.

Core activities
Activities at the college will have a professional activity that was particularly take on these core areas:

technology, environment and innovation
health, care and welfare
arts, culture and profession
College was established in 1994 by the merger of six colleges with different academic profiles.

Common to these colleges were offered professional within health and social care, engineering and business administration education, music education and teacher education.

From 1.1.2005 the Government diving school transferred to the University of Bergen.

College Board
College Board is the supreme authority at the college where the principal is the Chairman and Managing Director is preparing the case.

Bergen University College have shared leadership with the principal as the top academic leader and college president as the top administrative leader.

College is divided into three departments:

Department of Health and Social
Faculty of Engineering
Department of Education
Each department is chaired by the Dean who has both academic and administrative responsibilities. Departments have their own administration with an office manager.

The central administration will be led by Managing Director and is divided into five sections. These are led by staff directors.
