Why study at CIT

The Right Courses
CIT courses cover Business, Engineering, Science & Computing, Humanities, Art and Music. We have an enviable record of providing students with excellent employment opportunities and a firm basis for future career development.

Flexibility

We offer the full range of higher education qualifications, including Bachelor degrees, Honours Bachelor degrees, and post-graduate Masters and PhD degrees. CIT has a very well developed 'ladder' structure to enable students to progress through the different levels of qualifications.

Choice

CIT offers 60 courses through the CAO. Twenty-nine of these are on the Honours Degree (Level 8) list. It's important to note in addition that there are twenty-three courses on the Bachelor Degree Level 7 list which have routes of progression to Honours Degree courses at CIT.

CIT is one of the most highly rated higher education colleges in Ireland, both in terms of facilities and in the great student-staff relations.

Undergraduate

Postgraduates

CIT offers postgraduate opportunities at Masters level (both research and taught) and at Doctoral (PhD) level (by research).

Research Study

Applications are welcome from students wishing to pursue postgraduate research study at Masters and Doctoral levels. Such applicants are strongly advised as a first step to contact the relevant department in which they wish to study. Having obtained the advice of the department, an admission form is available from the CIT Admissions Office.

In addition, postgraduate research students must apply to and be accepted onto the Postgraduate Research Register before commencing their studies. The application form is available from the Registrar's Office.
Taught Postgraduate Study
There are several taught postgraduate programmes in the areas of Music, Electronics, Business Studies, Public Relations with New Media, Computing, Biomedical Science, and Art. CIT offers taught post-graduate courses in many departments.
