American InterContinental University
Houston, United States - Texas

University description (as per official university website)

AIU Houston

About Houston Campus

American InterContinental University has been preparing students for the rigors of the real world with practical, career-focused learning for over 35 years. To take advantage of the industry leaders and business and art resources in the country's fourth largest city, AIU Houston opened in 2003, bringing area students a flexible, dynamic, and current curriculum designed to foster successful careers.

AIU Houston offers a range of Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degree programs in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and Visual Communications. AIU Houston's MBA can be completed in as little as 12 months.

Whatever degree program you choose at AIU Houston, small class size, professors with experience both inside the classroom and in the real world, faculty readily available outside the classroom, and classes that are industry-current are the norm. To keep up with constantly changing demands and trends within each industry, AIU's representative board periodically reviews and updates course content for all programs.

AIU Houston is located in the Westchase District, the city's distinctive business community. Easily accessible via highway or Houston's public transportation, the campus puts students in close proximity to renowned shopping, dining, nightlife and cultural events.

History of the University

American InterContinental University (AIU) was founded in Europe in 1970 on the premise that universities should transcend the bounds of the traditional, theoretical approach to education by providing students with a curriculum that prepares them for successful, productive careers. For more than 35 years, AIU has offered this innovative approach to education at its campuses in Atlanta Buckhead, established in 1976; London, established in 1978; and Los Angeles, established in 1982. In 1998, additional campuses were established in Atlanta Dunwoody, and South Florida. AIU Online began in 2001 and was recognized as a separate campus in 2002. In 2003, an additional campus was added in Houston, Texas. In June 2009, the AIU Buckhead and the AIU Dunwoody campuses combined to become AIU Atlanta.
In January 2001, Career Education Corporation (CEC) acquired the University.
AIU is committed to developing curricula that provide students with career preparation in business, criminal justice, design and media arts, education, and information technology. The University's success in this endeavor is reflected in the employment of its graduates throughout the international business community, the achievements of its alumni, and the commitment of its faculty.

Financial Aid

AIU Houston goes to great lengths to help students develop a financial aid package to suit their needs. Each student is provided with a dedicated Financial Aid Advisor who will personally walk them through every step of the financial aid process.
American InterContinental University participates in a variety of financial aid programs. Eligibility for Federal financial aid is based on a number of factors. Regardless of your current income level or financial need, you may still qualify for student financial aid programs that can help you finance your education.
The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once you have been accepted for admission to the University and completed the FAFSA, a Financial Aid Advisor will work with you to determine the financial aid options that you are eligible for. At AIU, we are committed to providing the best customer service and ensuring that you feel comfortable with how you will be funding your education.
