University description (as per official university website)
The University currently has international students from 85 countries worldwide studying as undergraduates, postgraduates or on study abroad programmes. We welcome the enrichment their cultural diversity and intellectual stimulation brings to the whole academic community.
Our one stop campus is a major reason why students find studying at Dundee is such an enjoyable experience.
It offers the best of both worlds:
Every aspect of student life is on the main campus - studying (lecture theatres, labs, library, IT suites), student support services, social (students union including nightlife), recreational (sports centre, swimming pool, tennis courts) and residential (student accommodation)
It's like a campus university without being miles away from nearest town. The attractions of the city centre and the cultural quarter are just a stroll away
The campus is virtually traffic free and has a variety of attractively landscaped open spaces.
Everything you need is right here on the campus. Study facilities, help, advice, leisure activities... you name it and it's all within easy walking distance. From the first time you set foot on the campus you'll know you've made the right decision.
Most students are on or near the campus 24/7. That's what makes it such a lively place to be and making new friends here so easy. Be prepared to see your social life really take off. You certainly won't need a compass to find your way around. The campus is attractively landscaped yet surprisingly compact but bristling with top class facilities.
The main library is right in the heart of the campus. Other libraries on site cater for Architecture/Art and Design/Planning and Law students. All have duplicate copies of the major textbooks. Our libraries also provide CDs ranging from The Times to Encarta, videos for language and literature students, TV and video viewing facilities. You can log on to the library information services from elsewhere on campus and off-campus and you can request items you want to be sent to your local site from another of our libraries.
There are libraries at the Medical School and at both campuses of the School of Nursing and Midwifery and several departments have their own libraries.
