Available in most fields of study relevant to the progress of developing countries. Open to nationals of countries participating in the Plan (includes Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Philippines, UK). Request for an award usually made by a recipient developing country to a donor country; the UK is a major donor among member countries.
Details from the Colombo Plan administration in the candidates own country (normally located in Ministries of Economic Affairs, Development Planning etc). Candidates must be nominated by their governments for an award.
