Announcement follows

The first Asian Political Methodology Meeting will be held January 6 and 7, 2014 on the Ookayama campus of the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan. This conference is jointly sponsored by the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Princeton University (Program for the Quantitative and Analytical Political Science).

The aim is to have a small, intensive two-day conference focusing on quantitative methods and their applications. The conference consists of both paper and poster presentations. Although the conference seeks to promote the advancement of quantitative social science research in Asia, we welcome participation by any researcher around the world. Gary King of Harvard University will be the keynote speaker. The plan is to make this an annual event and the next conferences will be held in Taipei (2015), Seoul (2016), and Beijing (2017).

Call for Papers and Posters

We invite proposals for papers and posters at the first Asian Political Methodology Meeting. We seek proposals that develop or apply innovative quantitative methods to answer important questions in political science. The meeting is open to a broad range of methodological research without any specific theme. Those who are interested in presenting either a paper or a poster should apply online here . The title and abstract (up to 500 words) of your presentation will be required. The application deadline is September 30, 2013. Applicants will be notified of the decisions by October 31, 2013.

Registration for the Conference Attendance

All attendees, including paper and poster presenters, should register here by November 30, 2013. The online registration will begin November 1, 2013. The registration fee is 6,000 yen for faculty members and 4,000 yen for graduate students. The fee includes lunches during the meeting and a dinner on January 6.
