National Academy of Social Insurance Summer Internships
Washington, USA

Scholarship / Financial aid: available

Date: summer of 2010

Deadline: March 1, 2010

Open to: undergraduate and graduate students in various fields

Announcement follows

It’s January and once again, NASI is recruiting applicants for our summer internship programs. With your help, we can insure that excellent student talent learn about our internships.

NASI’s internship programs - The Washington Internship on Social Insurance, The Somers Aging and Long-Term Care Internship, The Nathan J. Stark Internship for Non-Profit Development, and The Eileen Sweeney Graduate Internship in Disability Policy – offer a wide array of opportunities and a $3,000 stipend. Descriptions of the programs and
the online application form are available on the individual internship pages and on NASI’s “Student Opportunities” page.

For 21 years, NASI’s internship program has focused on developing young leaders in the social insurance field. Last year, eighteen outstanding young scholars were selected to spend their summer in Washington working in various agencies and organizations with NASI members in the field. The 2009 class of interns came from colleges
and universities across the nation and included both undergraduate and graduate students in various fields of study, including Political Science, Economics, Social Work, Social Policy, Social Relations and Policy, Biology, Demography, Public Health, Health Sector Management,
Health Policy and Administration Public Policy, Health Policy and Sociology.

This year we will have places for 15 to 18 summer interns. Think about the talented young people you know—students, friends, and relatives—and encourage them to apply for an exciting summer in Washington. Graduate students and upper division undergraduates are the most competitive, as are recent graduates looking to explore their next career choices.

Application deadline: March 1, 2010.
